The Wayne County Family Center hosts FUN and FREE Play & Learn groups at two different locations for children ages 1 to 5.
Play & Learn groups are designed for children to play and get to know each other in a fun, safe and enriching environment. Their adults are right alongside them, joining in the fun or getting to know the other adults.
When playing with, or alongside, their peers, children naturally develop key motor skills, socialization, confidence and imagination. These are essential experiences that develop a child's social/emotional skills so they are comfortable and prepared to start school.
Stoneworks is around the back of the The Cooperage Project on Main Street. Signs guide the way.
On the east side of Hawley, turn onto Atkinson Street. As you turn, you'll see our tan, vinyl sided building. We're right next to the preschool playground.
Science and gardening grow together at the Family Center’s community garden beds. Watch the schedule to learn when to join us each growing season for refreshments, play time, relaxation and lots of hands-on activities that teach young children about plant growth, soil, weather, garden-to-table snacks and so much more.
Why?
Because kids love dirt! AND, it’s FREE and FUN. Hands-on experiences for children and families provide the very best opportunities for a young child’s learning.
